I don't know what you mean by purchasing the wood "rough". Do you mean unfinished? If so, then that would be plenty of time to have it acclimate as long as you purchased from a reputable business. Checking moisture content is always a good idea though.

Will the wood be kiln dried? You should always check the moisture level of both the flooring material and the subfloor. Acclimating for X number of days isn't a reliable method.

Also, if your house is super dry, your wood is super dry, and you install it very tightly and then allow a lot of humidity in the summer, you may have the opposite problem of wood expanding and having nowhere to go but up.

I am not really familiar with moisture testers for wood, but I presume that would be a good investment, seeing as the floor is certainly one!
