Best moisture content for hardwood installation

Where should I target the moisture content? Using portable humidifiers, I could get it (and the subfloor) to the annual average, to center on gaps and cupping. I could get it close to the maximum, to get no cupping but larger winter gaps. Over the expected worst case swing, I expect my individual board width to change by 1/32" or less during the year.

You have a lot of time and a god moisture meter?

It can take days yo weeks to months to alter the moisture level in wood uniformly throughout the piece

Yes to the meter. Wood is about 1% drier than the subfloor right now. I have time to adjust them.
