Hi, we had this carpet installed 2 weeks ago. Pattern is nicely matched but there are 3 visible shadow lines where the carpet seam tape is. The seams are not that visible, but a definite shadow or nap change is present and visible in any lighting.

The installers fixed some "peaked" seams, but could not do anything about the shadow. Store owner says this is where the carpet has "bloomed" and the rest will change to this color over time. He said this is due to low humidity this time of year. We have run our humidifier in the room for a week, vacuumed often but no change.

Installers claim this is common with this kind of carpet. It is a patterned nylon from shaw, techniloom pattern. Similar in looks to Tuftex Heatwave from shaw.

Should I hire an independent inspector? I am in the Chicago metro area.
