Disagree! We paid professionals. They did not have nearly the attention to detail that we do. We are re-doing the pros' work, and we are definitely not pros, just careful, caring homeowners!

I purchased a home with an acid washed basement. The finisher I believe was the homeowner, which was the builder (a developer). He didn't clean the floors properly before refinishing, it looked like we didn't dust the floors by our baseboards. Like almost a foot out, always looked dusty, but it wasn't. It was sealed in the finish. Hazy dust left, was told it couldn't be fixed. Acid washed floors also scratched easily. But it looked great, and the variation due to the acidwashing makes it so that the scratches don't stand out as much as with other flooring in my limited personal experience. Besides a clean floor, the only other recommendations is they stamped it in a huge grid format ( looked better than I'm describing). People always thought it was a huge fancy tile ( no tile is made this large! but the acid washed look was pretty it looked like a beautiful tile. I have to wonder if the stamping helped with supposed cracking in the concrete after reading a few things. Never looked into it more since I'm on to a new home.
