Painting my garage floor - need prep assistance

| Hi, I have been working on converting my 2 car garage into livable space. My question/concern right now is - how to prep my garage floor for being painted. I have already framed in the garage door openings, so I don't have the luxury of throwing down muratic acid and hosing it out the garage doors. The floor surface is pretty smooth (not shiny), but I believe it definitely needs cleaned/roughed up a little. What are my options for doing so, but being limited to a closed in room (I only have an entry door to the outside)?
Thanks! |

| You've limited yourself with your comments. The proper prep is to acid etch, then prime with a bonding primer, then paint. Acid etching is an essential step, so you're gonna have to find a way to do it properly in your environment. Watering it down after it's had a chance to do it's work and then using a shop vac for removal has the most chance of success, but unless you dilute it enough, you run the risk of eating up the shop vac. |
