you could have one made, but it still won't give off much heat. i have found that if you want a lot of heat around an open outdoor pit you need to build a larger fire.

This is a gas firepit. It seem like we need a "deflecter" to push the heat to the sides.

are all the orifices clean and clean? maybe it jsut ain't getting enough gas. are you sure the gas valve is fully opened and it has the proper regulator on it?

but in my experience most gas pits are good for looks only, they don't give off much heat. you can help this out by having a metal cap made and situate it a foot or two above teh pit so that it force teh heat more out the sides. but whether you will gain enough to make the cost worth it is impossible to say.
