If the chimney has two vents and one is used for your interior system and the other is presently not used but accessible from the outside, what you are seeking may be achievable at a reasonable cost. Otherwise, you can still do it, but it will cost you the construction of a separate chimney. There are available free standing fireplaces for use outside. That might be a reasonably priced alternative.
