| There's surprisingly little info on the internet about these.
I'm planning to build a small house (my first). It has a 5' opening between framing per plan. I haven't yet spoken with a mason or fireplace store as I would like to research and have some basic knowledge before I go to them so I will know what to look for and what to ask. But as I said, I can't find ANYTHING on the internet, no comparisons, cons pros of each. So I have no idea which way to go. If anyone can give me at least some ideas at what I'm looking at, features, problems, benefits, cost of custom built masonry fireplace vs built-in prefabricated one, I'd appreciate that very much.
