Beware Bis Ultima Fireplace

I purchased a new Bis Ultima Fireplace online in the summer of 2005. The wood stove was used in east Texas, where winters are pretty mild. In 2008 the stoves removable air supply tubes degraded to where they broke. Supposedly under warranty I contacted Security Chimneys International Limited the manufacturer of the stove and they told me no warranties are honored if the stove was purchased online! No exceptions! I had all receipts, even the original box. Great Company, NOT.

Two worries here, one beware the "warranty" and two, should a critical part be failing in three years of moderate to light use?
