Great fireplace! I have one and will install another in a different property. Fire starts easy and is roaring. Love the guillotine screen and glass.

I came so close to pulling the trigger on that one in our new build, but I just couldn't justify the expense. If you can swing it, by all means go for it.

I have its brother, the linear 50, but I looked at the Rumford in the show room before we ordered the two linear 50's in our house. I've not built a fire in mine yet, but the store guy demonstrated doing in in the Rumford in the store and gosh those things throw out a lot of heat. The doors are what sold us as well. Only downside is that they don't recommend gas starters (which we have in our other fireplaces).

Support has been pretty good from the factory and the local vendor. There are some specific installation considerations (you can download the install book, very detailed, from their website) both with regard to non-combustable surfaces and the spacing of the flues.

Dbrad...yes very expensive but you can buy something like it for 2000 but when you have a small house and don't have to move fireplace screens it's really nice! The guillotine screen and glass is the reason for my purchase
