We just bought this place recently and the fireplace was working during inspection before purchase- now it doesnt.

I only detail i could find that this is a gas fire place made by marco. i have a few pics of the fire place at the link below

when i flip the switch for the fire place i hear a hissing sound and i think the gas starts to flow...but the fire doesnt ignite..

any pointers on what i need to look into? what should i do to make sure this ignites?
