| hello. I'm trying to become fireplace savvy! My husband, who passed away in August was always the one to handle the wood burners.
I keep hearing a clicking noise in the stove pipe. I have a thermometer on the pipe and have been keeping the temp at about 325 degrees. It sounds like someone is clicking the inside of the pipe with something metal. What can be causing this????? Email me at gailyn1956@yahoo.com Thanks!!!! |

| The noise is perfectly normal - as the metal of the pipe expands with increasing heat, it makes these noises. The 325 degree temperature, however, is awfully low. Burning with the stove shut down to achieve such a low temperature increases creosote formation. |
