We're planning on getting a Mendota fireplace insert installed. We already have an existing gas line to hook into. The question I have (and can't seem to get an answer for) is:

How do they connect to the fireplace fan from the electrical outlet on the wall next to the fireplace. Do they drill through the fireplace bricks or go under the floor to behind the wall?

My husband doesn't want a cord to show, coming out of the fireplace and over to the electrical outlet.

And, while I'm here, what do people think about their Mendota fireplaces? Are you happy with them? My husband is starting to rethink getting one because we can't seem to get an answer to this simple question!
