gas fireplace pilot went out suddenly

Our pilot light went out for no apparent reason. We turned off the gas. We have since tried to turn it on again, using the igniter (that's part of the fireplace). No dice. Any ideas? (We don't know much about this gas insert. It came with the house.)

Get a can of compressed air or a small air compressor and blow out the line near the pilot. If this is your first time using it this year, it'll have some dust buildup or sometimes spiders like to build a web in there. This will prevent the gas from steadily flowing to the pilot to maintain the flame. This should resolve your problem but If not, seek professional services.
