Can I Add a Wall Timer Switch to My Fireplace?

I have a vented gas fireplace which I love, but I am forgetful and recently left it on accidentally when I left the house. To avoid this in the future, I'd like to change the on/off switch from one on the fireplace to a dial on the wall, so that the fireplace will always shut off after an hour or two. Is this possible? I can't find anything on line. Thanks in advance for any answers!
