Whitfield 30 Pellet Stove

I just purchased a home with the whitfied pellet stove insert. It was installed in 05 I think. It has been cleaned and has a new gasket around the door. I am having several problems. One I am getting some smoke out around the door mostly at start up.

The unit fills completely with smoke before starting I can hardley see the flame.

When the flame starts I have twice had the flame "POP" and send a puff of smoke into the room.

then burn fine.

I also see the burn pot fill up and end up with pellets spilled over into the side collectors. Any help would be great.

I have the same exact problem and have yet to find a solution. Have you figured out what is wrong?
