prefab chimney/wood stove

We have a prefab chimney that is not rated for "all fuel burning". Would it be possible/advisable to get a wood burning stove, provided we have an additional liner pipe installed in the chimney?
Thank you for your advice!

RE: prefab chimney/wood stove

Most of todays stoves actually burn better when installed on a 6" diameter chimney or liner in your case. The existing chimney will act as an excellent chase to run the liner in and then using double walled 6" stove pipe from the stove to the chimney liner + an adaptor to the liner, you will have a great chimney for your new stove.
