I have a different brand of pellet stove so not sure if things are the same. I start mine on heat setting 2 and fan setting on 2. Damper open about 1.5 inches. Anything above heat setting 4 and fan setting 4 i open the damper all the way. You really just need to play with it to get the best heat output. For starting it, I put about a handful of pellets into the burn pot and pump 7 squirts of hand sanitizer on the pellets then light them. This works great. I get the large jug of hand sanitizer at sams club for around $7. Hope some of this helps.
