There's often a lot to be said for a gas fireplace with a smaller input. Direct vent gas fireplaces are high efficiency, and for that reason putting out a lot of heat can be a problem--- and can easily overheat a room for much of the year.

One hotel manager summarized the problem for me on one occasion --- "Our guests come here for a romantic weekend, and fifteen minutes after turning on the gas fireplace, they have to turn on the air conditioner!"

So which one did you buy? I'm in the same boat. Can't find much on the Internet. Thanks
