| So, I moved my wife's furniture, took out my 3 lbs sledge and took up our awful tile in front of our fireplace. Now I have to fix it. The firebox is in disrepair, could probably be pointed, but I want to make it more efficient and keep the same look. I'm thinking soapstone rebuild for the firebox, two vertical soapstone slabs on either side and one over the top to completely cover the bricks. Lastly, a soapstone hearth. I've been online for the las week, and really can't find out how easy it is to rebuild the firebox. Anyone know of a good website, or have had any experience doing such a rebuild.?
