Vermont Castings Radiance - Hissing Sound

Hi, I just had a VC "Radiance" gas, Franklin-type stove installed last week. There is an audible, constant hissing sound, kind of a soft hum, coming from it, even when not in use. Does anyone know if this is normal with this particular stove? I have a friend who has another brand of gas stove and she says hers makes no noise at all!

I would guess, it's the gas flowing to the pilot light. ?? Your friend may have electronic ignition or it's just quieter.
