Double sided fireplace insert

When building our home in 2002, we thought a double sided wood fireplace between the living room and kitchen would be the perfect compromise instead of having two fireplaces. Our home is heated with a gas boiler/radiant infloor heat. Needless to say with the price of gas going out of site, we are looking for an alternative heat source that is more efficient than the fireplace. Rather then a seperate wood stove, we would prefer a fireplace insert. However, the problem has been that I have been unable to locate any company that provides a double sided insert. Anybody out there that may be able to help out?

Check out Spartherm:

Where are you located? I'm thinking of getting a two sided insert also.

These are German built, very efficient and tops in the aesthetic department.
