I have always hated faux fireplaces with a passion, but I just found out about gel fireplaces? Are they any good? I've looked around a little and they seem to be pretty realistic from what I can tell. I'm considering getting one since my house doesn't have a fireplace, but wanted to hear if anyone had any advice or info on them.

Please give me some help. Hopefully these things are as good as they say because I would really enjoy a fireplace, but I hate the cheesy electric ones.
