Converting Vent Free from Natural Gas to Propane?

xine

We infrequently use our gas fireplace due to our warm climate (Florida). The first year we lived here we only turned on the natural gas for two months. The rest of the house is electric.

Not realizing that there is some (weird, to me) FL law that says that if you don't use your natural gas for two years the company has to remove your meter, we are now considering other options since it's so inconvenient to stop/start service (connection fees and the like).

Can we convert our Temco Vent Free fireplace to propane from natural gas? Would it just require some different regulating equipment and a new connection at the outside of the house? Or what?
