| First of all, I have read all of the opinions/material on ventless fireplaces so I hope to not open up that can of worms. We bought a new home that has a ventless fireplace and I really do not want the expense of ripping it out to install a vented fireplace (inside wall and tricky roof/attic area) for the two or three times I may use it per year. I want to make the most of what I have.
My question is there a particular manufacturer of ventless log sets that is considered the best in terms of realism and safety? |

| If ventless is your only option, look for an electric system that can be inserted into your fireplace. (I think and hope that eventually ventless gas systems will be outlawed all together. Presently they are disallowed in sleeping rooms in building codes in many municipalities.) To protect the resale value of your home, go electric. |
