| We are remodeling our home ...(again ) and will be totally rebuilding the fire box and installing a liner in the chimney. The fireplace is located in the family room and will have cherry book cases on each side. We were intending on facing the fireplace with brick and would like to have a raised hearth (12-16"), but we know that this is not really period correct. Is this a big deal?
We will have 6" heart pine floors and a nice wood mantle. Thanks |
