| My fireplace currently has a non descript black slate surround and hearth.
I would like to "jazz" it up a bit by refacing it with granite (a color w/ black in it like verde or uba tuba) but I was planning to leave the black slate hearth as is. So my question is: is it ok to have a surround that matches or compliments the hearth but is not exactly the same material? Looking forward to your response. Design suggestions welcome......
