| well ijust bought a house, and it has a wood fireplace in the living room and a gas fireplace in the basement. We plan on using both of them, i think?!?! and we dont know much about them. I think we should have the chimmney swept above the wood fireplace, is this true and how much should i expect to pay? is there certain woods that are best to burn and is there any maintenance that i should be doing to eith or of the fireplaces????
thanks... |

| Hopefully the pros will chime in. I'd guess the gas fp would be safe to operate. I never had issues with either of mine, just light the pilot and you're good to go. |

| You should get an inspection for sure. Mine ran about $75 to inspect. I think it was $130 if they cleaned it. |
