 o
outdoor fireplace table with copper top

We are making an outdoor firepit table. It will be a gas fire in the middle with a tabletop around the flame. I would like to make the table top portion covered in copper. Is this going to get too hot from the flame? We were going to make the inner portion of the flame area out of brick to hopefully dissipate some of the heat, but I don't want the table to be too hot to be able to set a drink or food on it. Any help is much appreciated!
