| I am in the process of clearing some of my land, and want to know the formula for calculating approx. amount of cordwood from a downed tree. I am sure it is something like length of tree times the diameter .....
Can anybody help me out? Thanks ED |

| Ed, I posted a link below to something that might help. You could also do a search for "trees per cord" and that will show some more. Basically, any tree larger than 22" in diameter measured at 4.5 feet high on the uphill side of the tree will be more than one cord per tree. Less than that will be less than a cord except for trees which have lots of crown branches where you might get slightly higher yields. |
