Help requested - size of fireplace

Hello, we are building a new home with masonary fireplace.....we like some photos we've seen in a magazine that is made of brick with a curve at the top of the opening.......how do we determine the height, width, and depth of our fireplace please? Thank you, rt

You go to a professional.
What are you going to use the fireplace for? Heat? Or looks? Wood? Or gas?
Just remember, that a fireplace is a heat LOSER, meaning you will lose heat in your home when you use it, as the home's heat will go up the chimney every time you use it.

We plan to burn wood.......will have hearth room with masonry fireplace. We may (or may not) decide to install a fireplace insert-------have not decided yet. Thanks
