We installed two Xtrodinaire gas fireplaces, back to back, in two different rooms. We finsihed the one in the living room in a traditional cherry mantel and the one in the Great room in stone. Both look outrageous and we are very happy with the fireplace product. I don't know much about the Avalon but can tell you we are very happy with the Xtrodinaire.

I second the Xtrodinaire. I replaced a wood burning fire place with one. Looks fantastic and works even better. Love all the options available which enable me to use it for heating or just for ambience.
