Please don`t start heating with wood

I have been heating with wood for more than 30 years and just installed an new epa insert. Awesome heat for less wood burned. Messy though, dust, and ash and please don`t even consider it if you have allergies etc.

And worst of all if more people start to welcome this carbon nuetral heat, then it is only gonna drive up the price of wood. So please don`t even consider it.

I saw you headline and couldn't wait to see the post.
Yes, woodstoves are going to be VERY popular in rural areas as oil keeps going up. And supply and demand will affect wood prices too. I see it already. Green wood is selling for $140 a cord and seasoned wood is going for $175. But we still can get log lengths at $400 for 4 cords. So that's what a number of neighbors are doing. I'll go through about 3 1/2 cords per year and keep my oil furnace off. And as you are well aware, NOTHING warms like a wood fire!

Interesting. The insert is more messy than when you had an open fireplace?
