 o
Flame distrorts and dies out after firing

I have a gas fireplace that I just installed. I fire it up and seems to be great. Once I put the glass front on, the flame starts to go out on the far end of the gas bar (don't know the name of it) and is strong near the front of it. I was told to make sure that the inner vent isn't leaking into the outer one. I don't see how that could be the problem because the flame dies out too quickly. It seems to me like it is lacking oxygen because as soon as I open the door the flame comes right back. I also can't see how any oxygen gets into the firebox. Any help would be great.
