Hi - we live in a rental property and the brick around the fireplace is a thin and ugly cheap brick. The property is in the Presidio in San Francisco so it is not that I can contact a landlord and ask them to replace it. What I would like to do is to put something over it or alter it in someway that I can then put back to its original state when we leave. We are not allowed to use the fireplaces so I am not worried about that aspect. I do want something that looks nice. Here are some photos of the current fireplace, please let me know if you have any ideas, it is driving me crazy!
