Flamenco Gel Log Set and New Build

I don't have natural gas where we are building our home. My options are a traditional wood burning set up or hook up a tank of propane. I dislike the mess of a wood fireplace but I like the idea of still having the option while using the cleaner burning gel log sets. Any input for a newby?
