I am looking for a plumber in Houston who can fix fireplace gas valve leaking in the same way as Mr. seattlepioneer did.

Thanks !

Remove the bezel that covers the hole in the wall by turning the beze counter clockwise, which unthreads it from the gas valve.
Once it's removed, use a flashlight to examine the valve. Often the wall shutoff valves have a packing nut on the front of the valve that works loose and causes a leak. You can use a spray bottle of water and a lot of dishwashing detergent to diclose the leak.

Tighten the packing nut clockwise a bit until the leak stops.
