Where is a good place to look for a gas fireplace?

We are building and have a gas fireplace in the plans but we need to find what we want to put into the space. Not sure where to even begin looking. Is there a good website to look at or any showrooms? We are in the NY/CT area. Also, would love any advice as far as what brands are best, have the least emissions, etc. Many thanks!!

Fireplace Xtrordinaire, Mendota, Kingsman and Marquis have the best flames. Go to their websites and use a dealer locator to find a hearth showroom in your area.

You could also check Angie's List if you are members. We are having a Mendota gas fireplace installed this week.
