| The hinges on the door on our Quadrafire wood stove makes a loud screeching noise when we open and close it to put wood in. It's not a problem in the daytime but at night it wakes my wife up which creates much discontent in the household. We heat almost entirely with wood because I am a cheapskate and we do like all the heat it puts out. I tried graphite on the hinges but it only seems to last a few days. I don't want to use anything petroleum based because the hinges get too hot and it would just burn up and put fumes in the house. Any other ideas out there. |

| If the door is removable, I'd take it off and polish the hinge pins with emery cloth or steel wool. The inside of the hinge could probably be cleaned with a small wooden dowel or qtip wrapped with steel wool. |
