| Well, after 15 years, I have finally found something that works - Kaboom! I would never have guessed. No commercial fireplace cleaning product took off any of the grime, but this worked. But the problem I am left with is that the grout between the bricks is now filthy. Can anyone recommend something? Can I try bleach with a toothbrush?
Thanks, Jane |

| Well what do ya know. Maybe Mr. "mouth" was right after all! I've had good luck with ammonia. Maybe start with a 50/50 ammonia and water mix and experiment in an inconspicuous location. I know it works great with creosote! PLEASE let us know how it works. Jim |
