Distributing pellet heat from basement?

We have a pellet stove in our unfinished basement that heats the house. Heat goes through the ceiling of the basement and heats the house nicely. We also leave the basement door open. However, I'm currently framing and preparing to drywall the basement. This no doubt will slow/stop the rise of heat into the house.

Any advice for distributing the radiant heat after the basement is finished? I know code prevents putting grates and vents in the main level floor. Any possibility of incorporating a fan to pull heat into the air ducts? Putting an air intake for the furnace near the stove and turning the furnace fan on?

Any ideas, advice, recommendations from similar circumstances? Thank you.

I've seen people use the cold air return to distribute wood from wood stoves, gas stoves, pellet, etc... It works eventually, but a lot of the heat is lost through distribution. The metal ductwork soaks up lots of the heat before you feel any through the registers. I saw once a grate that had a fusible link and closed automatically after a certain amount of heat. Not sure if it's approved as a firestop between floors or not, but I'll include a link below, the manufacturer would likely know what it's approved for.
