REMODELING GUIDESThe Hidden Problems in Old Houses
Before snatching up an old home, get to know what you’re in for by understanding the potential horrors that lurk below the surface
Full StoryI just received an estimate to tuckpoint and repair the rock front on my house and chimney including materials, labor, and sealing. Not much has to be done to the chimney, but the rock on the front of the house is in need with a lot of the motor having to be cut out. The estimate is for $900 and includes cleaning the chimney. As I write this it sounds very reasonable. Am I crazy? Also I am a female and am leery! FYI I called the contractor.
