Hampton Insert Bad decision???

I had a Hampton HI300 woodburning insert installed last August. It has been a problem since. The fan themostat works correctly only,occassionally for a while, then quits forever. The fan then has to be operated manually. The thermostat has been replaced three times. It has been bent backwords to touch the firebox. It will work for a while on automatic, then quit. The dealer first tried to say the firebox wasn't hot enough. I had him stay at my house for three hours as the fire got so hot, it could have burned down the house. He finaly agreed it wasn't right. Three thermostats later...same problem. I can have a fire buning all day. HOT, HOT, HOT, and still the sutomatic fan will never kick on. Anyone else experience this problem. I'm about ready to have this thing taken out and start looking again. Getting up in the middle of the night to turn off fan or restock wood is getting to be a pain.

Contact another dealer that sells the brand.
It's like when you go to a car dealer for service with a problem. The dealer you bought the car from can't fix it. So you go to another dealer and the problem is sovled. The same here. Just contact another dealer and CALMLY explain your situation.

If your chimney isn't sealed at the top, you could be getting a cold downdraft that's affecting the thermostat. Or, if your liner only goes up the chimney a few feet, that will cause the fan to have short cycle times.
