| Hello All,
Was wondering if you could help me with a project I'm interested in doing. I would like to remove the top 3 rows of faux brick from the fireplace, lower the mantle and place a tv in the open area above the fp. I'm aware of people's concerns about looking up to a tv as well as heat coming up to the tv but this is really the only option to have the tv placed. My current rptv sits on a 45 degree angle to the couch which makes it too close to be watching a screen of that size. Hence my wish to have a flat screen above the fireplace. The faux brick is about 1.2cm thick which I am hoping will not be much of an issue to remove. I know there are regulations regarding the distance from the fireplace to the mantle but I was wondering if they would still apply if I chose to use a non flamable material like metal or glass for the mantle? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
