Insert-Direct vent/Natural vent?

Hi,

My brother gave me a vermont castings fireplace insert/new, never used. Its set for propane and is called "natural vent"-LHEC20RP.

I plan to build a non masonry bump out wall in my bedroom and install it with mantel, etc. But what is the difference between Direct and Natural vent? I plan on building a bump out wall against an exterior wall so I can vent it directly out the back wall to the outside. The box says zero clearance, "Natural vent" He doesn't have any literature with it anymore.

I could call a place to come install this and I just concentrate on the building part but I want to be sure I can use this. We don't have gas connections where I am so we'll run a line outside the side of the house to a propane tank. Its more for decoration in the bedroom rather than heat so would not be on very long. just don't understand the "natural vent" thing.

Thanks.
