Now my question is this: Has anyone used these types of �fans� and are they really �quieter� than �blowers� and just as effective? I am very interested in the �quiet� aspect of the fan as the (dead) blower that I am replacing was quite loud even on a low setting. The negative regarding the above �fans� is that they are more than twice the cost of my replacement �blower� should I go down that pathway. So basically I�m looking for feedback from any one who has used these types of �fans� vs. �blowers�. Are they really that much quieter? I guess I don�t want to umm blow it when it comes to this type of a cost differential�

I have noticed that most Vented Gas Fireplaces use 'blowers', while some use 'fans', and many websites use the two terms interchangeable when referring to 'blowers'. One website has a very interesting 'fan' system which is used to easily switch out old blowers.
