Fireplace decision...HELP

I have to decide by tomorrow between the Heat n Glo 6000GLX and the Mendota DVX35. Our builder talked us into an unvented system and we panicked and are making him take it out and do the direct vent system we wanted in the first place. I have narrowed it down to these two units because they fit into the space that is already prepped for stone, etc.

I've spent the winter researching these things. I have heard very good things about both brands, especially the Mendota. I liked their choice of fronts. I have heard that the Mendota is a great looking fire. Hope this helps.

I can't give you any specifics about which unit to pick, but I just want to say BRAVO to you for telling your builder to get that unhealthy vent free piece of c*** outa there!

I don't have any experience with the Heat 'n Glo, but we have 2 Mendota fireplaces. One is a DXV-35. It looks great and puts out a lot of heat. We would definitely buy Mendota again.
