I think it is a matter of opinion and personal taste. Some like the "rustic" appearance that the uneven edge provides. Some object to it and say that it reveals that the installer is inexperienced and that he made a mistake. If it bothers you, and if you have not paid (or paid in full) for the work yet, you should ask that the job be redone.
