Hello. I am in the process of thinking about/planning a basement finishing project which will require a heating solution. Have 1250 sq ft 1959 ranch on the edge of an urban area of Wisconsin. Will possibly finish off a third of basement (with maybe more in the future.) Currently have natural gas furnace. Replacing furnace is part of five year plan. Basement is currently not heated. Probably the easiest option would be to add ductwork and heat from current furnace. Growing up, my family always had a wood stove to heat the house, but that was the Northwoods. In this case, thinking about a pellet stove, but am unsure of the practicality. Trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. What resources are there that I can find info on different kinds of pellet stoves? What are price points for getting them up and running and the long term heating costs? Recommendations for brands or kinds? Would appreciate any info as jumping off point to evaluating the options. Thank you!
