Stone wall behind wood stove

I have a super ugly stove wall behind my basement wood stove that I'm looking for some advice on. The stones go floor to ceiling. They are quite large, but of varying shape and size. I think the wall was constructed in the late 80s or 90s. Around the edges of the wall there is visible foam insulation (Great Stuff, I believe it is called). It is all just so very ugly and I'm hoping for some easy and inexpensive suggestions on how to update the look. The wood stove sits very close to this stone wall (2-3 inches away. Thanks for any ideas!
